Successful Hindfoot Deformity Correction with Advanced Surgery
A young man with a fixed hindfoot deformity, unable to place his heel down and walking on the ball of his foot, underwent surgical correction after non-operative methods failed. The procedure included a calcaneal osteotomy, peroneus longus tendon transfer to the cuboid, tibialis anterior lengthening, reverse Cotton osteotomy, and flexor hallucis longus (FHL) release. Postoperatively, the patient achieved excellent correction, restored heel function, and expressed great satisfaction with the outcome. This case highlights the effectiveness of advanced deformity correction techniques in restoring mobility and quality of life.
